Welcome to Missionarylife.org! I’m the creator of this site. Let me tell you a little about myself and about the missionary life website.
I am both a missionary kid (TCK) and a cross-cultural missionary. Together with my husband, I’ve been serving in Asia the past twenty-eight years. Our three kids were born and raised on the mission field.
I’ve seen the highs and lows of missionary life! The awesome thing I’ve found is this. As missionaries, we have an incredible privilege. While serving in missions is a great calling, the even greater one is to know Him. We get to know Jesus in deep and profound ways by walking this missionary journey. He is for us! Longing to draw near to us, He uses the hard times to reveal Himself.
I’m passionate about helping those God has called to missions become effective. I want to help them experience breakthrough in their ministry and personal lives.
My husband and I faced major challenges over the years. There were medical evacuations and visa issues. We had team conflicts, marriage difficulty, and mental health issues. The joy of seeing incredible fruit in our work has been there too! Churches started, movements launched. A slum ministry began. National leaders we mentored now carry ministries forward. That is one of the many joys we repeatedly had as missionaries!
I’ve designed this website to serve all missionaries. I understand the many challenges you face. Thousands of Asians, Africans, and Latin Americans are missionaries today. This site uniquely desires to serve that growing missionary community. It will help anyone working cross-culturally though, so if you are a Westerner keep reading too!
Each week you will find a new blog post with encouragement, input, and help for your journey as a missionary. We will also include links that point you toward other great resources. In the coming days, I will create podcasts, e-books and other tools to serve this purpose. I deeply believe that God wants missionaries to live faithful, fruitful and fulfilled! This blog will help you to do that.
